Annabel Jarman Annabel is a senior at Brigham Young University - Idaho and a resident of Acworth, Georgia. She was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in her sophomore year of college while studying opera in school. Her positive attitude and determination have helped her reach beyond the boundaries of her disease to achieve her academic and vocal ambitions. Annabel relies on her faith, family, friends, and gastroenterologist for help and thinks of herself as fortunate to have such a strong and understanding support system.
Michael Zargham A senior at Dartmouth University and a native of Troy, New York, he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the age of 14, during his sophomore year of high school, following multiple misdiagnoses, ranging from ulcerative colitis to lactose intolerance. Unfortunately, Michael is not the only one in his family with gastrointestinal issues. Michael’s mother has ulcerative colitis and he finds great strength and support in his mother’s personal understanding of his condition.
Gideon Sofer Gideon is a freshman at the University of California at Berkeley and a native of Highland Park, New Jersey. He is studying public health and policy at UC Berkeley and continues to live by the motto, "hope dies last" and hopes for continued awareness of Crohn’s disease and one day, a cure.
